Pushkar One of India’s oldest cities, Pushkar is located in the Ajmer district of Rajasthan. Pushkar is an important pilgrimage town and one of five sacred sites visited by devout Hindus. Located next to the Pushkar lake, the city is full of temples, many of which were destroyed during the 12th century. It is often called ‘tirth raj, the king of pilgrimage sites. There are only a few remaining temples devoted to the Hindu god Brahma all around the world, and one such temple is located in Pushkar. The annual Pushkar fair takes place over five days in October and is a major tourist attraction in Pushkar It is also one of India’s largest cattle fairs with thousands of camels daily brought to the city. The beautiful city has 52 ghats and 400 blue temples. Beautiful lakes, magnificent temples and quaint hills give this mystical city a magical charm.
